True reiki healing

Posted by kerri on Friday, May 30, 2014, In : Kerri"s thoughts on Reiki
I believe the real healing comes from the daily practice of Reiki. So much focus is given to the hands on healing aspect, that we forget it's our daily practice that heals most. If we forget to work on ourselves and just offer sessions to others. We miss the true meaning of reiki. It 's the time we spend in self reflection and self care that creates miracles. When we become the walking bright light. We naturally heals those around us.Pay attention to your own house before you go clean others.

Reiki And abused horse

Posted by kerri on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, In : Animals

Nevada was found abandoned in a backyard in Riverside.  He had been the victim of abusive individuals who were training him to be used as a charro horse.  Their training methods included beating his legs with chains in order to make him do the Spanish walk and to piaffe on command. When he was rescued by Hanaeleh horse rescue he was very timid and distrusting of humans. He would bite and run away from people.  I decided I would try and give him reiki. Yes he tried to bite me at first, but o...

Stop thinking and start obseving

Posted by kerri on Friday, April 11, 2014, In : Kerri"s thoughts on Reiki
To truly embody reiki. One must stop thinking and start observing. The next time you find yourself stuck in your head with thought, worry , planning or reminisce . Stop and observe!!! What do you see, hear and smell. When you're in your head, you miss the beauty around you

Kerri"s thoughts on Reiki

Posted by kerri on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, In : Kerri"s thoughts on Reiki
The best technique for being a good reiki practitioner is the simplicity of just being. Be present and let the energy flow. Every time you stop to throw in the lastest and greatest technique or symbol you slow down the flow of energy. There is no need for MORE. Just be the energy

Finding my own energy.

Posted by kerri on Monday, May 20, 2013,
I came to Reiki by accident - if there's such thing. I was searching...obviously for my own energy. Most of my life i was borderline hyperactive and at some point hyperactivity takes a toll on you: exhaustion with all its consequences: lack of concentration, of motivation etc...So i was aware something needed to change in my operating mode. So Reiki came at the perfect time to explore my own energy and discover a strong body-mind connection. Needless to say -- it was a revelation: i us...

Reiki in Neo Natal Unit

Posted by kerri on Thursday, February 21, 2013, In : Children
While I was working as the urban Zen Clinical Coordinator at UCLA (mentoring the staff training there), a Respiratory Therapist in the program took me into the Neo Natal Unit where there was a tiny, premature baby in an isolation tent, connected to the monitors and life support equipment. She was able to open the 'tent ' up but couldn't touch the infant, so held her hands (she was attuned to Reiki I as part of the program) about 2 inches above her. When she started the treatment, the O...

Hospice

Posted by kerri on Thursday, February 7, 2013, In : Hospice

I recently got a new hospice patient. She was at end stage colon cancer and in a lot of physical and emotional pain. The first day she asked me if reiki could make her die quicker. She was ready to go and didn’t want anyone to see her this way. Even her daughter was not able to see her that day.. I gave her reiki with the intent that her passing would be quick. She was very sick and emotional. I came the next day and what a difference. She had the nurses get her up and put on her make-up ...

Free Reiki 4 Cancer story

Posted by kerri on Thursday, February 7, 2013, In : Cancer
Offering Reiki to cancer survivors or people going through cancer treatments has shown its benefits as a support for stress management and as complementary care. Visualizing pain or the disease can be a great liberator. I had this striking experience with a patient at Free Reiki 4 Cancer Clinic. Two of us were giving Reiki to a patient when she started experiencing tension - we could see and feel the tension in her chest -- she was shaking and deep breathing. We both held her arms on e...

Reiki For Friend

Posted by kerri on Thursday, February 7, 2013, In : Reiki sessions
was doing Reiki on a friend who has never had Reiki before. She was on the table and I started scanning her body. I also put a few crystals on her chakras that felt deficient. I feft a heat/tingling sensation on the top of her crown and third eye. I gave her some Reiki. I continued the scanning and giving Reiki for another 30 minutes or so. She told me after the session that her left ankle was operated on a few years ago. It has 2 screws in it. She said at one point she felt a sensati...

Reiki for Vetrans

Posted by kerri on Thursday, January 31, 2013, In : Reiki sessions

I volunteer with people coming from all walks of life meaning some do know the benefits of Reiki, some don't, some are skeptical. The last 2 categories often lead to interesting exchanges. For instance, one day at a Veteran center we were offering Reiki to men and women who went to Iraq or Afghanistan and are in transition to their next assignments or next destination -- this tall, confident men came in the room, looking at us and inspecting the room, he asked "what are doing?" - we e...

Reiki and Dying

Posted by kerri on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, In : Cancer

When I first met JoAnne she was emotionally drained, felt out of control and in a lot of pain. She had recurrent metastatic breast cancer. The doctors weren’t optimistic and gave her about 2 months to live. The first day of reiki made a remarkable difference. Her emotional state was much better and her pain was greatly diminished. We decided on once to twice a week sessions. She never missed a day.  She would come in fatigued and in pain. She’d leave with energy and feeling good. A year...

Gabi's Story Reiki and Cancer

Posted by kerri on Saturday, January 26, 2013, In : Cancer

I found out about reiki in an unusual way, and since my discovery I have been helped by it in so many ways.It was such a coincidence when i saw your business card tacked to the wooden bridge behind our house.  at first i thought it was my own card because it had the exact same picture on it, and i couldn't figure out how one of my cards  ended up on the bridge.  after i read the message about reiki on it, i had to find out more about and came to one of your reiki I workshops.  after th...

Reiki and Parkinsons

Posted by kerri on Friday, January 25, 2013, In : Reiki sessions

Reiki works well with any illness. The other day while at the senior center we had a gentleman come in with severe Parkinsons . He was using a walker and his muscles were so stiff he couldn’t lay flat on the table. The reiki session started and after about 5 minutes he began to noticeably relax. By the end of the session he looked like he melted into the table. His muscles were relaxed and moving with ease. He then got up from the table and walked over to his wife. She was shocked to see ...

Dog and Humming Bird love Reiki

Posted by kerri on Friday, January 25, 2013, In : Animals
My name is Marina.  I just love the gift of Reiki and I Reiki anything and everything, including my manifestations and intentions.  One day, a friend of mine came over and we were manifesting and doing our intentions inside a reiki grid....the dog came and sat right in the middle of the reiki grid and a humming bird flew in and circled the grid.  The house had so much Reiki energy in it that 2 days later a humming bird flew in and perched himself right over my Reiki grid and spent the ...

Reiki and The agitaed skunk

Posted by kerri on Thursday, January 24, 2013, In : Animals

We had a family of skunks move under our porch. We thought they were so cute we started feeding them. We would watch them come out every night and eat. It was great until they started bring their friends. I mean a lot of friends. So we started trapping them and releasing them in the river bed. They were pretty easy to trap. Every morning I would go out and place a towel over the trap. That way I wouldn't get sprayed and the skunk would feel more secure. The skunks would just lay there and l...

Makoto the dog

Posted by kerri on Thursday, January 24, 2013, In : Animals
Makoto was my very first client. I was a level 1 reiki practitioner and ready to help. Makoto was a husky with end stage lung cancer. He couldn't sleep or go for walks do to pain and discomfort. He wasn't eating and was having a hard time just getting around his home. I started giving him reiki and he eagerly pulled it in. The next day I came back and his owner was so happy. Makoto was actually able to sleep that night. After the second day he started getting back some of his energy. He even ...
